CTSO Ink, Silk & Gold competition

Digital Arts and Design students participated in a Project Based Learning activity that included collaboration with Ms. Smith's English classes,  Ms. Grady's math classes and Ms. Taylor's AP art history class. The project terminated with a student art show in Hillwood's Art Gallery.  The art exhibit chronicles the story of curating and exhibiting artwork in process similar to that used by Hillwood's business partner the Frist Center for the Visual Art.

Digital Art and Design students created posters for the purpose of creating awareness of the Hillwood art exhibit. Posters were judged as part of a school wide competition for SkillsUSA students. All photography, design, makeup was created by Hillwood students. All models were Hillwood students as well.

All the following designs were created by Joe Burlingame's Digital Arts & Design 2 and 3 students.

Project Based Learning_Athena at the Parthenon

Steve Campbell's Digital Arts & Design students joined forces with Michael Morello's English classes to create posters based on Nashville's Parthenon. Design students photographed a variety of images at the Parthenon. English students journaled reflective responses after viewing the images. Design students then incorporated these written responses in to their poster designs.

Here are some examples of the work.
